I have had the pleasure and the honor of creatively collaborating with author Mark Monroe. His intellect and way with words can befuddle, bemuse, and beguile any reader.
About Mr. Monroe
Mark Monroe is a retired paramedic, emergency room nurse, and safety engineer whose stories are steeped in lived experience and deep reflection. His writing explores the terrain between memory and meaning, where trauma meets transformation, and the quiet wisdom of rural life echoes through generations. Born of Midwestern roots and Appalachian summers, Mark Blends the lyrical grit of small-town storytelling and philosophical and psychological depth. his works- like the Watchers Dream and the prequel Ash and Honey follow the journey of Flint, a man shaped by both real-life crisis and the archetypal battles of the soul. Mark's literary voice is rich in spiritual resonance, dry wit, and reverence for ordinary lives influenced in equal parts by Washington Irving, Howard Thurman and Mark Twain- and his grandfather Art Monroe.
Together, he wrote Of Ash and Honey: The Making of a Man (The Watchers Dream Series Book 1) while I provided illustrations to accompany his illustrious work. The Mythmaker will be the next book of the series to release, in which I am assisting with revisions, as well as including my own voice through vignettes.
